RAMOS |
Samuel T. Ramos, 25, of 8968 Park St., Lakeview, was charged with child endangering and a felony count of domestic violence related to an incident Saturday afternoon at his residence.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department reported about 3:55 p.m. to his address on a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a witness, who stated he heard yelling coming from the 8968 Park St. residence.
The witness said he went outside and observed a male subject place a baby on the hood of a car that was backing away from the residence. The witness further stated that the baby almost fell off the hood of the car to the ground.
Officers spoke with the mother of the child, Katie Clark, 20, who stated that she and her significant other, Ramos, were arguing about Ramos’ mother transporting the infant and not using a car seat. She said Ramos is the father of the child.
Clark stated the argument got heated and she decided to leave. Ramos advised Clark to go ahead and leave, but she was not going to take their child with her. Clark said she exited the home, got into her car and started to back away from the home when she heard a thud.
Clark stopped her vehicle and directed her attention back to the front of the car only to see her daughter sliding off the hood of the car and Ramos standing near the front of the vehicle.
Clark quickly stopped and exited the vehicle and picked up the infant. Ramos admitted to putting the child on the vehicle, but said he was not aware the child almost fell.
The defendant was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail. He was issued the felony count of domestic violence because of a previous domestic violence conviction.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the incident.
