CONNELLY |
Shawn P. Connelly, 42, of 602 E. Center St., West Mansfield, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident Friday afternoon at his residence.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were first dispatched to his address about 3:50 p.m. regarding a reported court-ordered no-contact order following a previous incident between Connelly and his wife.
After checking on the no-contact order, deputies found that there is no such order currently in place and responded to the residence to speak with the reporting party.
However, when deputies arrived, they were informed that Connelly allegedly had choked a livein landlord, Erik Q. Engstrom, 39. While speaking with Engstrom, deputies observed red marks to his neck.
When deputies spoke with the defendant, they said he displayed signs of heavy intoxication. He told deputies that he had put his arms around Engstrom neck “in self-defense” and that he had refused to leave the home when asked.
Connelly was placed under arrest and was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
RAMSDELL |
• James C. Ramsdell, 48, of 251 Pleasant Drive, Apt. 10, DeGraff, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident at his address early Sunday morning.
Deputies were dispatched to the residence about 1:15 a.m. on a report of a domestic dispute.
Dispatchers advised the caller said her boyfriend had thrown her to the ground and had tried to hit her, and that she had locked herself in a bathroom.
Deputies spoke with Ramsdell and his live-in girlfriend, Lisa M. Rowland, 49, both of whom said they had been having a good time that evening playing board games when an argument ensued.
Deputies noted that they both displayed signs of intoxication.
Ramsdell said the pair had been arguing about political topics, and that she began swinging her fists at him. He said he then grabbed her by the arm and swept her legs out from under her and placed her on the kitchen floor.
Rowland told deputies that he had grabbed her by the shoulders and tripped her to the floor.
Deputies did not observe signs of injury to either party. Ramsdell was placed under arrest and transported to the jail.
