The Ohio Art Education Association (OAEA) recently announced the inclusion of three exceptional student artists from Benjamin Logan High School in its annual Emerging Artist Exhibition.
River VanVoorhis (grade 9), Cayden Brown (grade 10), and Charley Hardman (grade 10) have been selected to showcase their artwork among a collection of talent from across the state of Ohio.
The Emerging Artist Exhibition, hosted by the Ohio Art Education Association, is a premier platform that highlights the creativity and artistic excellence of high school students in grades nine through twelve.
This year’s exhibition, which takes place at the Columbus College of Art and Design from June 17 to June 28, features a diverse range of artworks including drawing, painting, sculpture, crafts, computer art, photography and printing.
Out of a pool of 200 submissions representing nine OAEA regions, only 138 pieces of artwork were chosen for display in this juried exhibition. River VanVoorhis, Cayden Brown, and Charley Hardman have demonstrated outstanding skill, creativity, and dedication in their artistic endeavors, earning them a well-deserved place among Ohio’s emerging talents.
Sally Stolly, Benjamin Logan director of administrative services, expressed pride in the students’ achievements.
“We are extremely proud of these talented students and their art teacher Mrs. Davis for inspiring creative thinking, problem solving, and skillful techniques.”
To celebrate the achievements of these young artists and their dedicated teacher, a reception is planned for 4 to 6 p.m. June 28.
During the reception, students will be awarded certificates, prizes and special rewards for works selected in different categories.
The Emerging Artist Exhibition serves as a platform to motivate and inspire new artists, encouraging them to excel in their artistic pursuits. Through this exhibition, OAEA continues its mission to promote art education and recognize the quality student art produced throughout the state.
