MAINTENANCE WORKER II
WATER DEPARTMENT

RATE OF PAY:
$19.85 Probationary

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with the installation, maintenance and repair of waterline systems. Must be capable of operating motorized equipment necessary to complete installation, maintenance, and repair projects. Will be responsible for inspecting the water facility on a scheduled basis to ensure proper operation of the plant and equipment and to ensure desired water quality is maintained or achieved. Conducts routine tests of water to analyze turbidity, pH, and chlorine, and to record a laboratory chart; prepares and submits daily records of plant operation. Performs routine mechanical and electrical work involved with the maintenance, repair, and installation of pumps, motors, feeders, and other related equipment; performs maintenance on equipment and facility. Will be required to perform other miscellaneous tasks in order to assist with the efficient delivery of services. Must maintain required licensure and certification; demonstrate regular and predictable attendance; meet all job safety requirements and all applicable PERRP safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of secondary education (high school or GED); 1 year experience performing semi-skilled labor and operating light motorized equipment, or equivalent combination of education/training/experience; must possess a valid State of Ohio Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and remain insurable in accordance with the City’s vehicle insurance policy. Must be certified as a State of Ohio Class I Water Distribution Operator.
