SHELBY COUNTY — A motorist was killed following a single-vehicle crash about 1 p.m. Saturday west of Port Jefferson, deputies from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office report.
Brittany B.J. Jordan, 32, of Port Jefferson was westbound near 17400 Mason Road outside Port Jefferson in Shelby County when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the road. The driver reportedly over-corrected, slid broadside off the left side of the road and struck two trees.
A Perry-Port Salem squad transported Jordan to a medevac landing zone to be airlifted to a hospital, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful and she pronounced dead at the landing zone.
Port Jefferson Fire Department, CareFlight and the Shelby County Coroner’s Office assisted at the scene.
