Allison L. Defibaugh, 24, of 609 W. Baird St., West Liberty, was charged Sunday with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and having an open container of alcohol after a 1:55 a.m. traffic stop. She also was cited for a marked lanes violation.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department observed several marked lanes violations and a stop bar violation. She was stopped on Eastern Avenue near Columbus Avenue.
An odor of alcohol was detected by officers while talking with Defibaugh.
Field sobriety tests indicated she was impaired by alcohol and officers found open bottle of beer in the car. She refused to provide any samples for chemical analysis.
• Ronald E. Hardman Jr., 53, of 537 W. Chillicothe Ave., was charged Sunday with OVI and cited for a marked lanes violation, squealing his vehicle’s tires, an improper turn and failure to use a safety belt.
Around 12:45 a.m., he was observed turning a pickup truck from Main Street west on Sandusky Avenue. The rear tires of the pickup spun and the vehicle traveled across two lanes before Hardman corrected it and drove into the curb lane. Officers observed several more violations before stopping the motorist on Caroline Street.
Upon contact with Hardman, officers detected an odor of alcohol.
Field sobriety tests indicated he was impaired by alcohol. His breathalyzer sample was recorded at 0.099.
