Wilma “Jane” Cagle May, 91, of Covington, formerly of Indian Lake, passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 27, 2016, at Covington Care Center.
She was born May 29, 1925, in Sidney, to the late William Earl and Olie Chloe Harvey Gates.
On Nov. 10, 1946, she married Calvin Cagle and he preceded her in death in October 1993. In November 1996, she married Robert May and he died in May 1997. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Lefever and Mabel Crabtree.
Survivors include two children, Darlene (Robert) Cardinal of Troy and Deborah (Lewis “Gene”) Martin of Piqua; five grandchildren, Brian Cardinal, Heather Daoud, Stacey Riley, Kimberly Brumbaugh and David Martin; 10 great-grandchildren, Bryce Cardinal-Hamm, Lauren Cardinal, Keith Cardinal, Joshua Kraus, Jacob Kraus, Brianna Cardinal, William Riley, Mason Brumbaugh, Logan Brumbaugh and Thomas Riley II.
Jane was a 1943 graduate of Sidney High School and a member of the Indian Lake Northside Church of the Nazarene in Lakeview. She sold Avon for many years and worked at Heartland of Indian Lake helping provide activities. Jane loved her church and church family, her many grandchildren and friend’s children. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing and sewing.
Funeral services begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview, where visitation begins at noon. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
