The Bellefontaine Police Department and their partner organizations are hosting a variety of events in the coming weeks.
On Wednesday, July 20, the department and the Citizens Police Academy will have their next community outreach event at the intersection of north Detroit Street and Brown Avenue. Residents are invited to attend the 5 to 7 p.m. event that includes free hot dogs and meet the city police officers.
On Tuesday, Aug. 2, the CPA’s Alumni Association is planning the annual National Night Out Against Crime event from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brown Park.
The annual Law Enforcement Safety Day, which brings together representatives of local, state and federal agencies, will return for its fourth year from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Southview Park.
The event also features the barbecue chicken dinner to benefit the BPD K-9 fund. The $5,000 in proceeds from last year’s event paid for a $3,000 surgery for the department’s dog Arco. Tickets are $8 each and are available at the police department’s dispatch window.
