A plan to install playground equipment at Dodge Park was approved Monday in a regular meeting of the West Liberty Village Council.
Council approved allocation of $10,000 toward new playground equipment at the park at the recommendation of the finance committee. The West Liberty Ball Association will pay the balance of the approximately $13,500 project at the site of the former high school.
The council has been lobbied in recent weeks by a Dodge Park committee that wants to see playground equipment there to entertain smaller children during baseball and softball games.
The equipment is expected to be ready for this season.
