Two local teams walked away with Central Buckeye Conference championships Friday after the final day of the league meet at Benjamin Logan High School.
Ben Logan’s girls team won the Mad River division title for its ninth championship in a row, while the Lady Chiefs held off defending champion Jonathan Alder to win the Kenton Trail division crown.
The Lady Raiders won in blowout fashion with 156 points. Springfield Shawnee was second in the Mad River division with 100 points, North Union was third (78), Northwestern took fourth (69), Graham was fifth (63) and Indian Lake took sixth (57).
Bellefontaine’s girls finished with 172 points to top second-place Alder (160). London finished third in the Kenton Trail division with 91 points, Kenton Ridge was fourth (46), Urbana took fifth (43) and Tecumseh was sixth (10).
Kylie Adams powered the Lady Chiefs with three wins. She was first in the 100 hurdles (15.34), 300 hurdles (46.23) and long jump (17-7 1/2).
Also getting wins were Ava Reeves in the 200 (26.22) and Kelsie Snapp in the discus (135-6).
Taking second for BHS were Grace Brown in the 1,600 (5:22.78) and the 3,200 (11:50.54), Kelsie Snapp in the shot put (36-7 3/4), Rylie Reames in the high jump (4-8), Callie Shumaker in the 100 hurdles (15.83) and 300 hurdles (46.70), Reeves in the 100 (12.57), the 400 relay team (49.93), Reeves in the long jump (16-1 3/4) and Alexis Robinson in the discus (130-9).
Finishing in third for the Chiefs were the 3,200 relay team (10:58.03), Alexis Robinson in the shot put (36-7 1/2) and Shumaker in the 200 (26.97).
Taking fourth were Jillian Ullom in the 400 (1:05.85), Kayleigh Flora in the 800 (2:34.83), the 1,600 relay team (4:29.39) and Parker Penhorwood in the pole vault (8-0).
Finishing in fifth for the Chiefs were the 800 relay team (2:00.20) and Kaeleigh Flora in the pole vault (8-0), while taking sixth were Jillian Ullom in the 100 (13.52) and Brianne Sechrest in the 1,600 (6:02.20).
Isabel Henderson turned in another sensational performance to lead the Lady Raiders. She won the 100 hurdles (15.16), long jump (17-8), 100 (12.62) and 200 (26.14).
Georgia Bates also had a stellar showing with wins in the 800 (2:23.19) and 1,600 (meet record time of 5:27.70).
Also getting a win was Kate Gulick in the 300 hurdles (49.57).
Finishing in second for the Raiders were the 3,200 relay team of Lexi Archer, Hadley Boysel, Mylee Boysel and Bates (10:38.02), the 400 relay team of Gulick, Burrey, Chamberlain and Elliott (54.14), the 1,600 relay team of Chamberlain, Burrey, Boysel and Bates (4:21.99) and Nora Elliott in the pole vault (10-6).
Taking third for the Raiders were Lauren Hemmelgarn in the shot put (30-10 3/4) and discus (101-7), Kate Gulick in the 100 hurdles (16.84), Abby Vance in the 100 (13.12), the 800 relay team of Chamberlain, Burrey, LeVan and Elliott (1:54.05), Avah Miller in the 300 hurdles (53.80) and Scarlett Elliott in the pole vault (9-6).
Taking fourth was Vance in the long jump (15-5 1/4), while placing fifth were Lauren Kennedy in the 400 (1:05.69), Vance in the 200 (27.12) and Hadley Boysel in the 3,200 (13:15.82).
Adding sixth-place finishes were Vance in the high jump (4-8) and Kyla Godwin in the discus (82-11).
Indian Lake’s girls were led by Maddie Miller, who finished first in the discus (104-1).
Miller took second in the shot put (32-8), while finishing in third for the Lakers were Reagan Rash in the 800 (2:26.98) and the 1,600 (5:34.93) and Ava Faler in the long jump (15-9 1/2).
Earning fourth-place finishes were Addison Beck in the 200 (27.05) and the 1,600 relay team of KaiLea Miller, Evie Wagner, Rash and Cameron Finfrock (4:29.56).
Taking fifth for the Raiders were the 3,200 relay team of Metzger, Miller, Wagner and Brielmaier (11:23.44), Terra Beltz in the shot put (28-6 1/4), Ava Faler in the high jump (4-8), Addison Beck in the 100 (13.29) and long jump (15-2 1/2) and the 800 relay team of Makayla Motter, Sydney Hamilton, Finfrock and Hailey Prater (2:00.32).
Adding a sixth-place effort was Ava Faler in the pole vault (8-0).
BOYS RESULTS
Springfield Shawnee won the Mad River division with 157 points. Ben Logan was second (119) and Indian Lake was third (85). Northwestern took fourth (76.5), North Union was fifth (68) and Graham finished sixth (17.5).
London won the Kenton Trail division with 155 points. Jonathan Alder was second (125) and the Chiefs were third (105). Kenton Ridge was fourth (65), Tecumseh took fifth (48) and Urbana was sixth (21).
Leading the Chiefs with CBC titles were Haiden Manns in the discus (159-6) and shot put (51-3 1/2), Carter Kuhn in the pole vault (11-6) and Jacob Henry in the 300 hurdles (42.79).
Taking second for BHS were Tony Stewart in the 3,200 (9:42.45) and Kailyn Organ in the high jump (5-6), while third-place finishes went to the 3,200 relay team (8:24.67), Kaiden Foulk in the 400 (52.42) and Anthony Stamm in the shot put (43-3 1/4).
Finishing fourth for the Chiefs were Hayden Maus in the 3,200 (9:52.17), Jordan Hensley in the discus (115-9), Jeffrey Smith in the pole vault (9-6), the 800 relay team (1:34.14), Stewart in the 1,600 (4:28.68) and the 400 relay team (45.19).
Taking fifth for the Chiefs were Maus in the 1,600 (4:35.47), Foulk in the 200 (23.47) and the 1,600 relay team (3:40.17).
Seth Taylor added a sixth-place finish for the Chiefs in the 800 (2:04.60).
The Raiders were led by wins from the 3,200 relay team of Eric Hughes, Tyler Shoopman, Landon Zehner and Eli Rhodes (8:37.22), Grahsyn Bailey in the pole vault (12-6), the 800 relay team (1:33.34) and Carter Buck in the 300 hurdles (44.02).
Finishing in second for the Raiders were 400 relay team (45.02), Ben Chamberlain in the 400 (52.47), Tyler Shoopman in the 800 (2:09.85) and the 1,600 relay team (3:33.89).
Placing third for BL were Evan Carpenter in the pole vault (11-0), Collin Powell in the 100 (11.51), Carter Buck in the 200 (23.58) and Eli Rhodes in the 3,200 (10:59.98).
Fourth-place finishes for BL came from Carter Buck in the 110 hurdles (17.05) and Dylan Vance in the 200 (23.81).
Taking fifth for the Raiders were Shoopman in the 1,600 (5:01.79), Gus Bibart in the discus (127-1), Collin Powell in the long jump (20-1), Josh Rich in the 110 hurdles (17.72), Eric Hughes in the 800 (2:09.85), Kyle Kibler in the 3,200 (11:24.18) and Bibart in the shot put (44-6).
Hughes was sixth in the 1,600 (5:06.21).
Indian Lake’s boys team was led by second-place finishes from Quest Clay in the long jump (20-9 1/2), 200 (23.25) and 100 (11.43), Brody Parsell in the pole vault (12-0) and Gavin Henry in the 300 hurdles (45.25).
Taking third for the Lakers were Henry in the 110 hurdles (16.58), the 400 relay team of Henry, Clay, Drake Cosby and Heath Wilson (45.14), Noah Shirk in the 300 hurdles (45.90) and the 1,600 relay team of Bryan Mohler, Silas Holbrook, Everett Wischmeyer and Noah Shirk (3:45.26).
Finishing in fourth place for IL were the 3,200 relay team (9:04.19), Christopher Timms in the discus (127-9) and shot put (47-8 3/4), the 800 relay team of Cosby, Cameron Freyhof, Mohler and Wilson (1:38.05) and Grant McPherson in the 400 (53.63).
Adding a sixth-place effort for the Lakers was Mohler in the 400 (53.96).
