Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department are investigating a hit-skip incident that occurred around 4:35 p.m. Friday at High Point Village shopping plaza, 2129 S. Main St.
Jennifer L. Dunham, 39, of West Liberty, was walking across the lot when a white female motorist in a westbound small blue car struck Dunham as she walked northward from a business.
The motorist who was accompanied by two other females, according to a witness, left the scene.
Dunham was checked at the scene by Bellefontaine squad personnel and then transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by her husband for treatment.

Passenger faces felony charges
Austin T. Eshelman, 24, of 112 Ravin Place, West Liberty, was charged Sunday with two felony counts of tampering with evidence.
He was a passenger in a car operated by Aaron J. Allen, 24, of Troy, who was stopped at 12:35 a.m. for driving without a rear license plate light.
Eshelman was detained in the rear of a cruiser while officers confirmed a Champaign County warrant. During the time in the cruiser, the suspect is observed via the cruiser camera removing an item from his clothing, putting it in his mouth and then reaching with it to the rear of his pants.
A scan at Mary Rutan Hospital revealed he has inserted an object into his rectum. He was given opportunity to remove it but he claimed he was not successful.
Officers obtained a body cavity search warrant and took him to jail.
A body scan there indicated the object was gone.
Hospital staff searched the room where Eshelman was held and found a vape cartridge inside a surgical glove disposed of in a trash can.
