A Marysville resident was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening in the area of 1662 County Road 10 near Bellefontaine.
Vickie L. Poling, 54, was pronounced dead en route to Mary Rutan Hospital on a Bellefontaine Fire and EMS squad following the 7:21 p.m. crash, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.
Deputies said Poling was operating an eastbound sport utility vehicle when she failed to control while negotiating a curve and spun counter-clockwise across the center line and into the opposite lane of travel.
Her SUV was struck in the passenger side by a westbound SUV operated by Sandra A. Kirkpatrick, 37, of Bellefontaine.
Kirkpatrick and two of her passengers, Dalton Ferrell, 10, and Destiny Armstrong, 17, both of Bellefontaine, each were transported by Bellefontaine Fire and EMS and Macochee EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of minor or possible injuries.
The crash report indicates that Poling was not wearing her seat belt. Kirkpatrick and her passengers were wearing their seat belts, deputies said.
Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected as factors in the crash. Damage was heavy to both vehicles.
This is the fourth fatal crash in Logan County this year.
