Kristie A. Stripe, 43, of 116 S. Park St., was charged Sunday with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and cited for traffic control device violation after a 7:40 p.m. traffic stop.
She was observed driving southbound from Mary Rutan Urgent Care, 1134 N. Main St., in a vehicle. At Main and Rush Avenue, she failed to stop the vehicle behind the stop bar.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report Stripe was at times restless and other times euphoric during conversations and field sobriety tests. She also had body tremors, dry mouth and exaggerated reflexes.
They suspected she was under the influence of a stimulant and contacted her husband, Jamie. He informed them she had been abusing her prescription for a stimulant used to treat attention deficit hyperactive disorders.
Both the motorist and her husband reported she had not been asleep for 48 hours.
A urine sample was collected by Logan County Jail staff for analysis.
