A new face and new location will greet shoppers at the Logan County Farm Market this season.
MacKenzie Myers has been retained as manager of the market, the LCFM board has announced.
A teacher at Indian Run Elementary School in Dublin, she also will manage the new Indian Lake Farmers Market, organized by the Logan County Food System Initiative and sponsored by the Mary Rutan Foundation and Lakeview Hardware.
The new market will be set up in the parking lot at the Indian Lake Midway Plaza, 8793 Township Road 239, Lakeview, from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays from June through August. Booth space is free for qualifying vendors.
The LCFM begins its 2019 season in May and continues throughout the growing season from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturdays in the parking lot at the corner of Detroit Street and Chillicothe Avenue in Bellefontaine.
Brewfontaine has become a Community Partner with the market for the second year in a row. The receipt of the business’ $5,000 donation today takes the market to more than $12,300 of its $15,000 fundraising goal, said Hannah Wischmeyer, a member of the LCFM board and chair of the fundraising committee. The market’s Community Partner commits to taking an active role in supporting and strengthening the local food system and assists in opening new revenue channels for local food producers by featuring their products and hosting food events.
