Local issues decided
A little more than 22 percent of Logan County’s registered voters cast ballots in Tuesday’s primary, according to unofficial tallies from the Logan County Board of Elections.
In all, 7,048 ballots were cast with 5,625 filed as Republicans; 1,140 Democrats; six Green Party; and 277 nonpartisan.
There are 31,424 registered voters in the county.
The first ballots arrived at board offices at 8:24 p.m. while the last came out of Indian Lake High School at 11:01 p.m.
There were no major problems reported for the day.
Among the local issues to be decided in the race were questions about a tax levy to support a library, an alcohol sales option and two crossover school district issues.
Receiving Logan County voter support was Jefferson Township’s library tax levy by a vote of 408 to 203.
Both local liquor options for Bobber’s Drive-Thru and Deli, 15641 State Route 235, Belle Center, were approved by Richland Township voters. On-site sales passed 256 to 74 and Sunday sales passed 248-85.
