Bellefontaine Elementary School students place hearts describing random acts of kindness they performed on a Kindness Tree located in the school cafeteria this week in celebration of Random Acts of Kindness Week. Members of the school’s Friendship Club challenged all students and staff to complete two Random Acts of Kindness throughout the week and to record those acts on the pink hearts. Some different acts of kindness have included: holding the door for someone, giving a compliment, sharing, letting someone go first when lining up, writing a nice note to someone, playing with someone new at recess, picking up trash, and saying please and thank you. Club members thought that if everyone was focused on being kind to one another, there would be less bullying and the school would be a friendlier place. (PHOTO | BELLEFONTAINE ELEMENTARY)
