Alejandro Cruz, 15, of 213 Main St., Quincy, was charged with assault following an incident Thursday morningat Riverside Schools.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the school about 7:50 a.m. on a report of an assault in the agriculture lab.
Students in the agriculture lab reportedly were preparing to go on a field trip when Alejandro allegedly punched a 17-year-old male student in the face.
Alejandro then reportedly walked off campus for the second time in two weeks. He was located by school staff members.
When speaking with deputies, he admitted to striking the other student, and his hand was red and swollen, deputies said. He was transported to the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
• Deputies report fellow Riverside student Ashland Stanley, 17, of 109 Walker St., DeGraff, was issued an unruly juvenile summons following an unrelated incident at the school Thursday morning.
Teen charged with disorderly conduct
Zhaire Evans, 17, a resident of Grace Haven, was charged with disorderly conduct and lodged in the JDC following an incident Thursday afternoon.
Deputies responded to the facility about 1:40 p.m. on a report of a teen who was throwing food all over the floor. The girl reportedly was threatening staff members and cursing at them, and was placed under arrest.
