Jack N. Browning, 86, of Titusville, Fla., formerly of Bellefontaine, passed peacefully Oct. 20, 2017, after a brief illness.
He served nine years as an aircraft engine mechanic in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. He began his career with North American Aviation in 1953 as a test flight mechanic for the Vigilante aircraft that was designed for the U.S. Navy, and worked on the nation’s space program and retired from Rockwell International in 1987 after 33 years of service. He then continued to work on the Space Shuttle program for several more years after retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, his daughter, Kathy Jo Seal and his son, Bradley Browning.
He is survived by his children, Chris (Suzie) Browning, Jack G. Browning and Beth Raymond all of Titusville, Fla., and Frank (Barbara) Young of Christmas, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Eric, Chris, Portia, Kelly, Jenny, David, Kaley and Billy; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce (Dale) Tracy and Sharon (Bill) Beltz, both of Bellefontaine; and many nieces and nephews.
He was loved by many people and will be missed by his family and friends. Memorial services were Oct. 27 at North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville, Fla., where condolences may be expressed at www.northbrevardfuneralhome.com.
