West Liberty-Salem’s boys basketball team was dealt a heartbreaking loss Friday as Greeneview pulled off a last-second win in Division III tournament action at Northmont High School.
The Tigers took the lead, their first of the night, with than less than 10 seconds to go in the fourth quarter.
However, the Rams were able to go the length of the court and scored with 0.6 seconds left to steal a 57-56 victory.
“Our guys showed a lot of heart coming back from 13 points down in the fourth quarter,” said WL-Salem head coach Darrin Leichty. “Give Greeneview credit to come up with the final score to win it.
“Our four seniors Dillon Callicoat, Tyler Louden, Adam Schultz and Kannon Stillings are winners. They raised the level of our program over the last couple years.”
