A local man charged last year with multiple sex offenses involving minors faces additional charges from an alleged January attack in Bellefontaine.
Malachi J. Dawson, 19, now faces charges of three counts of rape, felonies of the first degree; four counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, felonies of the fourth degree; two counts of gross sexual imposition, felonies of the fourth degree; and attempted gross sexual imposition, a felony of the fifth degree, after a Logan County grand jury handed up amended indictment this week.
He was named in an October indictment for offenses involving three other victims, girls ages 13, 14 and 16, between February through June of 2020.
The amended indictment includes those charges plus additional charges from an alleged rape of a 20-year-old Bellefontaine woman on Jan. 5.
Dawson has been lodged in the Logan County Jail since his Jan. 6 arrest.
The cases were investigated by the Bellefontaine Police Department.
