Bellefontaine City Schools officials announced Monday evening that a COVID-19 exposure involving a number of the transportation staff members will result in nine bus routes being unavailable for the next 14 days, beginning today, Tuesday, Oct. 6.
“We were notified this evening of an exposure that will effect most of our transportation department,” BCS Superintendent Brad Hall said via the district’s all-call notification system and website and Facebook page. “It has resulted in the 14-day quarantine of nine of our bus drivers. While we realize this is a huge inconvenience, we need to continue to have school.”
Parents are being asked to transport their students to and from school each day on the following routes: Bus 3 – Jaguars; Bus 5 – Cats; Bus 8 – Bears; Bus 9 – Kangaroos; Bus 11 – Elephants; Bus 12 – Horses; Bus 13 – Dogs; Bus 19 – Lions; and Bus 20 – Alligators.
During this time, the following three buses will be able to continue their normal routes: Buses 14 (Iguanas), 15 (Fish), and 16 (Giraffes) will continue with their normal routes.
At this point, buses can resume transporting students on Monday, Oct. 19, officials said.
