Benjamin Logan Schools are set to receive $17,000 in grant funds for the purpose of promoting individual reading initiatives amongst its student population.

In a rescheduled regular meeting Thursday, school board members heard a presentation on the “Literacy and Learning” grant which the district has secured from the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation.
Sally Stolly, curriculum director and gifted coordinator, along with reading teacher Kim Smith and third-grade teacher Paula Naragon told the school board Thursday that the $17,000 grant provides a 30-hour comprehensive training offered May 30 through June 2 designed to “provide teachers with knowledge and tools to promote individual reading excellence.”
