Heidi Rayburn, 41 of Ashley, was charged with a felony count of possession of drugs, along with possession of drug paraphernalia, during a a traffic stop Monday afternoon.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol in the area of U.S. Route 33 near Township Road 94 observed the vehicle operated by Rayburn had a fictitious registration and initiated the stop.
Upon making contact with the driver, signs of drug use were observed. The defendant refused consent to search the vehicle.
K9 Bruno was then deployed and indicated on the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted. A black case containing suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found on the floor. Rayburn stated she didn’t know anything about the drugs or paraphernalia.
She was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
