SIDNEY — Officers of the Sidney Police Department arrested a Sidney woman Tuesday afternoon for felonious assault after she allegedly shot a gun in the Walmart of Sidney parking lot.
Teresa A Holthaus was lodged in the Shelby County Jail as a result of the incident.
Officers responded about 2:40 p.m. Tuesday to Walmart, 2400 W. Michigan St., in regard to a male subject being shot at.
Upon arrival, officers learned that Holthaus’ former boyfriend, Jeffrey Epley, 63, of Troy, was driving in a pickup through the parking lot of Walmart. He said he was being followed by a car operated by Holthaus.
Bystanders stated that the defendant pointed a handgun out her window as she followed closely behind Epley.
Epley stopped his vehicle near the lawn and garden section and started to exit his vehicle. Holthaus then reportedly fired the gun in the direction of Epley, striking the rear of his truck. The suspect then drove from the scene.
Officers immediately responded to Holthaus’ residence on Fair Oaks, where she was taken into custody without incident. The vehicle and handgun to be believed used during the incident were recovered at her residence.
