Taylor Dillon drove in the game’s lone run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give host Riverside a 1-0 victory over Milton-Union in a Three Rivers Conference softball battle Monday.
The Pirates are now 8-9 overall and 5-5 in the TRC. The Bulldogs fall to 5-5, 5-4. Keira Manahan threw a three-hit shutout to get the win. She allowed just three hits, walked one and struck out nine.
Riley Dillon went 3-3 with a double to power the Riverside bats. Riverside is back in action today at home against Covington.

Lakers rally past Braves
Indian Lake’s softball team rallied for a 3-2 win over host Springfield Shawnee in a big Central Buckeye Conference game Monday.
The Lakers are now 18-2 overall and sit atop the CBC Mad River standings with a record of 12-2. The Braves drop to 16-4, 10-3.
The Braves scored twice in the third inning to lead 2-0.
Indian Lake battled back with three runs in the top of the sixth to move ahead and get the win.
Madison Brentlinger was the winning pitcher. She allowed four hits, one walk and struck out five. Brentlinger went 2-4 with a double at the plate. Kayleigh Zedlitz was 2-3, Mackenzie Dixon had a double and an RBI and Halle Roby and Katie Roby each added a double.
The Lakers host the Braves on Wednesday.

Chiefs wallop Arrows
Bellefontaine’s softball team had the bats going Monday for a 17-4 five-inning win over host Tecumseh in Central Buckeye Conference play.
The Chiefs improve to 12-9 overall and 7-7 in the CBC. The Arrows drop to 10-8, 5-8.
Tecumseh struck first with three runs in the opening inning.
However, Bellefontaine took control with a nine-run second inning. Bellefontaine followed with five runs in the top of the third to lead 14-3.
Tecumseh scored a run in the bottom of the third to make it 14-4. Bellefontaine tacked on three runs in the fifth inning.
Addison Wical went 3-3 with a double and a grand slam home run to help spark the Chieftain offense. With the double, she broke her own single-season doubles record she set last year.
Alexza Clifton also had a big day. She had a double and also book the career runs scored record. Averie Vigansky went 3-3 with a double, Rianna Fullerton went 2-3 with a double, Kassi Prine had a home run and Emma Crabtree and Airiana Young each had a double.
The Chiefs will host Tecumseh on Wednesday.

Raiders cage Cats
Benjamin Logan’s softball team picked up a 6-1 win over host North Union in a Central Buckeye Conference game Monday.
The Raiders are now 12-5 overall and 7-5 in the CBC. The Wildcats drop to 10-13, 5-9. Ben Logan scored four runs in the second inning and added two in the fourth for a 6-0 lead.
The Wildcats scored their lone run in the seventh. Adilynne Gregg went the distance in the pitching circle to get the win. She allowed nine hits, struck out five and walked three.
At the plate for the Raiders, Courtney Bowers had a double, Kyndal Cronkleton had two RBI, Brooks Myers went 2-3 with a double and an RBI and Bailee Stover had an RBI.

Tigers zap Indians
West Liberty-Salem’s Kennedy Wallace fired a one-hitter in her team’s 7-1 win over visiting Cedarville on Monday in Ohio Heritage Conference softball action.
The Tigers improve to 5-8 overall and 3-8 in the OHC. The Indians fall to 5-12, 4-9.
WL-S led 5-0 through three innings. The Tigers added two runs in the fourth for a 7-0 lead. Cedarville scored its lone run in the fifth.
Wallace struck out four and walked two to get the win. Offensively for the Tigers, Kaylee Blair had two RBI, Audrey Collins had a double and two RBI, Whitney Strapp had two hits and Wallace added two RBI.
The Tigers play at Greeneview today.
