Triad’s girls basketball team started off strong, but could not keep pace with host Springfield on Monday as the Wildcats took over for a 68-34 non-league win.
The Cardinals fall to 2-16 on the season, while the Wildcats move to 6-10.
Triad came away with a 12-10 lead to end the first quarter. Springfield came roaring back in the second quarter with a 15-8 run. That lifted the Wildcats to a 25-20 lead heading into halftime.
Springfield kept pouring in the points during the third quarter with a 24-6 run. That stretched the Wildcats’ lead to 23 at 49-26.
Cati LeVan paced the Cardinals with 16 points and seven rebounds and Olivia Butz had six points.
Triad hosts Mechanicsburg on Thursday for an Ohio Heritage Conference contest.
