Evelyn M. Allison, 90, of Bellefontaine, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Logan Acres Care Center.
Evelyn was born in Bellefontaine on July 1, 1933, to the late Leo and Edith (Yoder) Brackney. She married Melvin Allison on July 20, 1954, on her family farm in DeGraff, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Melvin Allison, her two children, Terri (Jim) Burnside and Tom (Tammy) Allison. They were also blessed with five grandsons, Tim (Beth) Kerns, Travis (Gabe) Allison-Dixson, Taylor (Ashley) Allison, Jason (Catelyn) Burnside, and Nic (Jasmine) Burnside. Seven great-grandchildren, TJ (Alanee) Kerns, Hunter Kerns, Kyleigh Burnside, Joel Burnside, Jase Burnside, Courtney Burnside, and Kenley Burnside. Sister, Shirley Kress.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and two great-grandchildren, Chase Burnside and Ella Allison and brother Richard Brackney.
Evelyn graduated from DeGraff High School in 1951 and was one of six remaining members of her class of 17 graduates, who, until recently met regularly for lunches.
Evelyn retired in 1986 from Westinghouse. She loved to travel and spent many winters at her second home in Venice, Florida. She also enjoyed her frequent shopping trips with her sister.
A memorial service officiated by Daniel O’Kane will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2024 at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home, 5591 US Highway 68 S. West Liberty, Ohio 43357. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
