West Liberty-Salem’s girls track and field team opened the indoor season Sunday at the University of Findlay.
The Tigers’ 3,200 relay team of Megan Adams, Grace Adams, Madison Bahan and Katelyn Stapleton won their race with a new school indoor record time of 10:15.28.
Kaylee LeVan also set an indoor school record for the Tigers in the long jump with a leap of 15-2 1/4, which placed her seventh.
Stapleton took second in the 800 (2:31), Lydia Moell was 10th in the 60-meter dash (8.49), LeVan was 15th in the 60-meter dash (8.60) and Riane Payne was 12th in the shot put (29-1).
WL-Salem’s indoor team competes again Feb. 8 at Cedarville University.
