Crews from Flecto Construction of Zanesville operate construction equipment this week to remove the former West Liberty Water Plant building along Pickrelltown Road by Lions Park in the village, as shown in this photo captured through drone technology by West Liberty Water Superintendent Brad Hudson. The contractors will be on site for approximately two to three weeks, also working with a wrecking ball to remove all of the concrete from the former water plant and then completely leveling the structure, Hudson said. Flecto Construction submitted the lowest bid to the village for the project, at approximately $55,000. West Liberty’s new Spray and Play Splash Pad that opens in late spring will be located near this former water plant. Village officials said the former water plant has not been used for about two years following the construction of the new water plant facility located just west of the site, also on Pickrelltown Road.
