Virginia M. “Ginny” (Clark) Thurman, 82, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020, in her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Ginny was born April 9, 1938 in Springfield, the daughter of the late George and Catherine (Fent) Clark. Ginny leaves behind her husband of 66 years, Charles Wesley Thurman. They were married May 8, 1954. Ginny was sixteen and Charlie was seventeen, four years later they were blessed by the birth of their daughter Sherrie and three years later the birth of their son Douglas.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie; daughter, Sherrie (Rob) Aubrey; son, Douglas (Karen) Thurman; two granddaughters, Natalie (Jim) Blythe and Alisa (Cristian Diaz-Mendoza); two grandsons, Charles and Darrell Thurman and two great-grandsons James and Will Blythe. She was very active in her church a gifted and anointed Christian Counselor who touched many lives. Ginny is also survived by her brother George (Pat) Clark and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marie, and brother, Jerry.
Due to the restrictions of the Covid-19, we will be following the guidelines set by Governor DeWine’s office. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 10 a.m to noon Wednesday, June 17, in the Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana. Funeral service will follow at noon, with Pastor Phil Shenk and Pastor Eric Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Memorial Park, Springfield.
