Ronald G. “Troop” Elliott II, 57, of rural Bellefontaine, passed away Friday afternoon, June 12, 2020, at The Ohio State University Ross Heart Hospital.
Troop was born in Bellefontaine on Jan. 2, 1963, to Ronald “Skeeter” and Linda (Geboy) Elliott. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Frank and Willa Geboy, and paternal grandparents Stephan and Mabel Elliott.
Troop is survived by his wife, Kelley (Specchio) Elliott of rural Bellefontaine, whom he married on Aug. 3, 2004. He is also survived by his parents, Skeeter and Linda Elliott of rural Bellefontaine; daughter Stayci (Chad) Piper of Mt. Victory; seven grandchildren: Ty, Garret, Luke, Caleb, Josh, Sarah, and Steven; a sister Beverly (Mark) Fullerton of Belle Center; nephew Elliott Fullerton and niece Abbie Fullerton.
Troop retired in 2004 as Superintendent at Shelly Materials, York Center. Most recently, he was the proprietor of Elliott’s Lawn Service. He was a member of the state archaeological society and loved antiques. A true outdoorsman, Troop loved hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and searching area fields for arrowheads. He had a rough and tough exterior, but was a kind and generous person. He frequented the Belle Center Pool Hall and enjoyed his conversations with the regulars. All who knew Troop, knew Troop.
Pastor Kevin Smith will officiate a graveside service for Troop at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Northwood Cemetery (south of Belle Center, off of State Route 638).
