Joseph R. Moore, 31, of 1101 Reservoir Road, was charged Saturday with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs after a 2 a.m. crash.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report he was driving a car on Lakewood Drive and lost control. It his a mailbox and a parked utility trailer. The trailer was knocked into a parked car.
Moore was found standing near his car which came to a rest near tree line south of the crash site. He was unsteady on his feet and had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, officers report.
Field sobriety tests indicated he was impaired by alcohol and his breathalyzer results came in at 0.205.
Moore was charged with OVI; issued a traffic citation for failure to control; and released to a sober friend.
Damage was heavy in the crash.
• Destiny M. Mikes, 18, of 5889 N. County Road 5, Rushsylvania, was charged with OVI and possession of marijuana after a 9:10 p.m. crash Tuesday in the 400 block of west Brown Avenue. She also was issued traffic citations for failure to control, leaving the scene of a crash, diving onto a curb, driving without headlights and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
As officers arrived on the scene, Mikes drove from the scene and turned southbound onto Pratt Street without the headlights on. Another officer was northbound on Pratt and observed Mikes drive off the right side of the street and onto a curb.
She was stopped in the 200 block of Pratt.
She reportedly admitted to being impaired and officer noted an odor of marijuana coming from inside her car. Officers found six open containers of alcohol, a bag of marijuana and homemade foil pipe for smoking marijuana in the car. Officers noted an inconsistent odor of alcohol while talking with her but noted signs of drug impairment.
Field sobriety tests indicated she was impaired and she voluntarily provided a urine sample for laboratory testing under appropriate supervision at the department’s offices.
She reported eastbound drove from Walnut Street and stuck a motorcycle registered to Daniel A. Castle, 408 1/2 W. Brown Ave., parked facing west. The motorcycle was knocked backward into Castle’s car. Damage was heavy to the motorcycle and light to the car.
