Stephanie L. Aloe, 41, of Raymond, was taken into custody Wednesday on felony warrants for possession of drugs and tampering with evidence.
An officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department on patrol observed her operating a car at 9 p.m. on Columbus and Garfield avenues and initiated a stop. She was transported to the Logan County Jail where staff found a chewed small plastic bag in her mouth.
A review of an in-cruiser camera showed Aloe in the cruiser digging into her pants before putting her hands to her mouth after multiple tries. She is then recorded chewing.
When confronted, she claimed the baggie was empty but a drug screen at the jail had her positive for amphetamines, methamphetamine, bupenorphine and alcohol.
After consulting with the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office, the officer charged her with an additional count of tampering with evidence.
• Ethan T. Smith, 29, of 811 State Route 708, Russells Point, was charged Wednesday with disorderly conduct.
Around 1:50 a.m., he was warned by Mary Rutan Hospital staff and an officer assigned to the facility to stop cursing while he was waiting for treatment of a broken leg. He would not listen and was issued a summons.
Records revealed he was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear on a speeding citation and he was taken into custody on the warrant. He was lodged in jail.
