Jonathan R. McComas, 39, of 4311 Township Road 31, Huntsville, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs related to a traffic stop near Huntsville Saturday.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office on patrol in the village about 4:15 p.m. said another motorist stopped to tell deputies that McComas’ vehicle was “all over the roadway” and went off the road, partially into the ditch.
Deputies located the vehicle and observed marked lanes violations as McComas approached the U.S. Route 33 overpass on State Route 117, and initiated a traffic stop at county roads 130 and 37.
While speaking with the driver, deputies observed signs of impairment. He did not submit to field sobriety tests and was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he refused to submit to a breath test.
Inside his vehicle, deputies also located a smoking device, along with a jar and a baggie containing suspected marijuana. He was cited for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and a marked lanes violation. Deputies said McComas had prior OVI convictions in 2006.
