Ryan M. Hufford, 41, of Piqua, and Ryan M. Hall, 38, of Tipp City, each were charged with a fourth-degree felony count of possession of cocaine related to a Friday evening traffic stop.
Officers of the Russells Point Police Department on patrol about 9 p.m. reportedly stopped a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado in the 300 block of south Orchard Island Drive for malfunctioning brake lights.
The driver, Hufford, had a suspended driver’s license. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit responded to the scene.
When the K9 arrived on scene, Hufford reportedly attempted to re-enter his vehicle after being instructed to stand outside and he was detained. He then admitted to having marijuana inside the vehicle .K9 Thor alerted on the vehicle.
A search was conducted and marijuana, drug paraphernalia, open alcohol containers, as well as two bags containing approximately 7 grams of suspected crack cocaine were located inside the vehicle.
Both Hufford and the passenger, Hall, denied ownership of the cocaine. Both were placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Jail. Additional charges are pending.
Officers of the Washington Township Police also assisted at the scene.
The vehicle was impounded at the Russells Point Police Impound.
