Ashley Mundy, 32, of 504 W. Chillicothe Ave., Bellefontaine, and Willie Wells, 41, address at large, each was charged with a felony count of possession of a schedule II drug following a traffic stop Wednesday evening.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were on patrol in the area of south Main Street about 6:20 p.m. and observed the pair’s vehicle, noting that Mr. Wells had a warrant for his arrest. A traffic stop was initiated in the 2300 block of south Main Street.
Ms. Mundy was the driver of the vehicle, and officers observed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Officers noted that Mr. Wells was fidgeting with something and asked him to step out of the vehicle. During a search of his person, officers recovered a small bag of marijuana and a large amount of cash in his pockets.
During questioning, Ms. Mundy also handed officers two plastic bags of marijuana that were on her person. Inside her purse, officers also located a substance that tested positive as cocaine.
A search was conducted of the vehicle, and officers recovered a white pill identified as acetaminophen and oxycodone hydrochloride, a schedule II drug. Ammunition also was found in a gym bag in the trunk.
Ms. Mundy also was charged with possession of cocaine. The defendants were lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Man charged for stealing bicycle
A city man was charged Saturday for taking a bicycle and leaving his vehicle behind in a driveway.
Officers responded Saturday morning to 515 Dakota Road and took a report from Tracey Vanderroest that a bicycle had been taken from his garage.
Officers had responded there May 31 and removed a blue Schwinn bicycle that had been left in the driveway.
He discovered his own bicycle a yellow Shimano with a miniature computer on the handlebars was missing after discussing suspicious activity in the neighborhood with a neighbor. The neighbor described a man whom he had seen recently.
They located the bicycle at the 515 Walker St. residence of Robert Castle, 52, and he matched the description of the man provided by the neighbor. Mr. Castle eventually admitted taking the bicycle and leaving his own behind.
He was issued summonses for theft and criminal trespassing.
Alcohol, marijuana charges filed.
