HOUSTON, Ohio — A Piqua man reportedly was in critical condition after a motorcycle crash about 8:20 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of State Route 66 in Houston.
Jerome Hester, 38, was operating a northbound motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he lost control negotiating a slight left turn and went off the right side of S.R. 66, deputies of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office report.
Mr. Hester, who reportedly was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike into a cornfield. He was taken by CareFlight helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Deputies were assisted by Piqua Fire and EMS and Houston Fire and EMS.
The crash remains under investigation.
