Amber Yeager, 30, of Springfield, was charged with child endangering and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs Monday following a crash in the village of Belle Center.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the crash about 11 p.m. at the intersection of Buckeye and State streets.
Ms. Yeager reportedly was operating a southbound sport utility vehicle on State Street and failed to stop at the stop sign. Her vehicle collided with an eastbound SUV operated by Lois Chamberlin, 63, of Belle Center. The Yeager SUV then went off the left side of the road and struck a stop sign and a storage unit.
No injuries were reported, and damage was heavy to the Chamberlin vehicle and moderate to the Yeager vehicle.
Deputies observed that Ms. Yeager displayed signs of intoxication and she submitted to field sobriety tests. She was transported to the Logan County Jail, where she refused to take a blood alcohol content test.
Deputies report that she had three child passengers in her vehicle, ages 8, 10 and 11. Ms. Yeager also was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to yield.
• Daniel E. Cousino, 22, of Swanton, was charged with OVI Saturday evening following a crash in the parking lot of Froggy’s, 11065 Township Road 293, Lakeview.
Deputies report he was attempting to back up his vehicle about 7:55 p.m. when he struck an unoccupied parked car owned by Denielle K. Smiley of Lima.
The driver admitted to consuming several beers and submitted to field sobriety tests. At the jail, he tested a 0.142 blood alcohol content level.

Citation issued in two-vehicle mishap
Washington Township Police cited Ian T. Nicol, 16, of Marysville, for improper backing after a minor two-vehicle accident at 11:23 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of State Routes 366 and 368.
Reports indicate Ian pulled from a stop sign at S.R. 368 into heavy S.R. 366 traffic, started to back up and struck the vehicle behind him operated by Sterling Gibson of Cairo.
Damage to both vehicles was light.
