The skies above Logan County will be ablaze with color for three consecutive weekends as various villages host annual Fourth of July festivities.
The first of the fireworks displays is Saturday, June 25, in West Liberty’s Lions Park as the culmination of the day’s Force softball tournament and the West Liberty Lions Club’s popular fish fry from 5 to 7 p.m.
But probably the biggest change of the year this year comes as Rushsylvania plans its celebration for Saturday, July 2, to avoid competing with Belle Center, which remains one of the most popular July 4 fireworks displays locally.
“We wanted to try it out this year and get away from everybody doing it on the same day,” Rushsylvania event organizer Heather Wright said. “If we can get different communities to have it on different days, maybe people will be able to travel to other shows and support their events, too.”
