A 14-year-old Bellefontaine Middle School student was lodged Tuesday in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center after he reportedly threatened to shoot up the school.
Steven M. Travis, of 868 E. Sandusky Ave., Apt. 141, was taken into custody by a Bellefontaine Police Department school resource officer.
He faces a delinquency count of inducing panic.
The officer learned of the threat around 9:30 a.m. and determined there was no immediate threat to students or staff.
Bellefontaine City Schools staff sent out a recorded message to parents around 11:30 a.m. notifying them about the resolution of the threat.
