A man released from prison Oct. 26 was arrested Saturday as part of a Logan County Joint Drug Task Force investigation.
Jonathan L. Triplett, 27, of 555 Newell St., Apt. 5, was served warrants for trafficking in crack cocaine and possession of crack cocaine.
He was observed around 10 a.m. leave his apartment in a vehicle. Task force detectives with assistance from officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department and deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop.
Two passengers from Chicago were released from the scene while Triplett was taken into custody. Officers seized $284 and two cell phones from the suspect.
A search warrant was obtained for his residence. Crack cocaine, marijuana, digital scales and other drug paraphernalia were located and seized during the search. Three children, six years old and younger, were in the apartment with a babysitter.
Triplett was the subject of a task force investigation in 2015. He was convicted of drug offenses including illegal conveyance of drugs into a detention facility.
He was sentenced Jan. 22, 2016 to 30 months in prison.
More charges could arise from the investigation, the task force reports.
