Sarah Jeanette Hostetler, 89, of West Liberty, passed away at 3:13 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was born in Champaign County on Oct. 16, 1926, to the late Samuel C. and Golda Ellen Yoder Plank. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Miller; her sister, Elizabeth Geil; and her brother, Robert Plank.
On Dec. 22, 2001, she married David H. Hostetler and he survives, along with eight stepchildren, Linda Kulp, Keith Hostetler, Enid Schloneger, Kathy Schmucker, Amy Sharp, Bob Miller, Rex Miller and Don Miller; a sister, Mary Kay King; a brother, Sam (Mary Lou) Plank; a sister-in-law, Thelma Plank; and many nieces and nephews, who affectionately referred to her as “Grandma Sarah.”
Sarah had worked as registered nurse with Dr. Hooley for many years and was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church in West Liberty. She always had a positive attitude and a gift of making people smile. She was a wonderful lady who was loved by all, and a friend to all.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Road, West Liberty, and one hour prior to a funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Bethel Mennonite Church, 416 Washington St., West Liberty. Burial is in South Union Cemetery, West Liberty, at a later date.
