Sally S. Jarvis, 89, of Lakeview, OH formerly of Russells Point, OH passed away Monday morning, July 18, 2022, at Indian Lake Rehabilitation Center.
Sally was born on June 18, 1933, in Bellefontaine, OH, a daughter of the late Lorin L. and Bessie Bradley Smith. On January 23, 1954, she married Fletcher Jarvis, Jr. at Bellefontaine First Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on February 25, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard, and a sister, Nancy Worthen.
Sally is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen Jarvis of Marysville, OH, two sons, Scott L. (Deena) Jarvis of Huntsville, OH, and Thomas S. (Rita) Jarvis of Bellefontaine, OH, seven grandchildren, Matt (Denise) Jarvis, Amy Archer, Tiffany Hunter, Beau Hunter, Alex Jarvis, Max Jarvis, and Lucy Vanderhoff, 10 great grandchildren, Talan Archer, Cohen Archer, Charis Strickland, Kale Strickland, MacKinley Jarvis, Hadley Jarvis, Madelyn Jarvis, Delilah Jarvis, Fletcher Vanderhoff, and Warren Vanderhoff, a sister, Fran (Jim) Hollis of Louisville, KY, three nieces and a nephew.
Sally was a 1951 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. She was librarian at Lakeview Elementary School and retired from the Indian Lake School District after 33 years. She was a member of Indian Lake Community Church. Sally enjoyed reading, traveling, and going to dinner and shopping with her friends. Her greatest joy came from being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pastor Karen Blackburn will begin funeral services at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview with visitation two hours prior to services. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sally’s memory may be given for the Indian Lake Elementary School Library.
