Robert Lee “Bob” Vaughan, 80, of Urbana, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 26, 1936, in Urbana and was a 1955 graduate of Concord School. He was a very proud lifelong farmer and enjoyed going to farm sales. He restored antique tractors and enjoyed attending and participating in the antique tractor pulls.
He was a member and strong supporter of the Democratic Party and Club. He was a former member of the Eagles in Bellefontaine, the Concord Cemetery Board and a trustee for Westville Grain. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and his furry haired dogs.
His survivors include his children, Thomas (Andrea) Vaughan, Cindy Vaughan, Kay (Chuck) Kellenberger, James (Julie) Vaughan and Ann (Rex) Weatherhead; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Carol Jean McCormick; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore “Bud” and Vonda Geraldine Lamb Vaughan; wife, Patricia “Patty” Tobias Vaughan; and a daughter, Kimberly Sue.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, in Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana, where a funeral service begins at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, with Pastor Sherri Blackwell officiating. Burial follows in Concord Cemetery.
