Riverside’s baseball team rallied to beat visiting Benjamin Logan 7-6 in a non-league game Tuesday.
The Pirates improve to 11-9 on the season. Ben Logan falls to 2-18. Ben Logan led 5-0 after three innings. Riverside exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the fourth to jump in front 7-5.
The Raiders scored a run in the sixth to make it 7-6. Riverside was able to hang on from there to get a win.
Landon Purtee had three RBI to lead the Riverside offense. Aiden Manning was 3-4, Gavin Orsborne went 2-3 and Gavin Robinson had a double and an RBI for the Pirates.
Sam King worked five innings of relief to get the win on the mound. He gave up one hit, one earned run, struck out six and walked three.
Keaton Horney was 2-4 with a double and an RBI for the Raiders. Soli Hughes went 2-3 with a double and an RBI and Anthony Griffith added a double.
