Robert E. “Bob” Ferguson, 88, of Huntsville, went to be the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at his home.
He was born in Belle Center on Jan. 14, 1928, a son of the late C. Crew and Ethel Longshore Ferguson.
In June 1958, he married the former Judy Hites, who survives in Huntsville.
He is also survived by his son Robert “Brad” and life partner Christine Jackson; grandchildren, Jacob Ferguson and his fiancé Danielle Laws, Christian Ferguson and his fiancé Amber Hildreth, Stacia (Ralph) Messer, Tiffany (Deno) Barnes and Cheyenne Ferguson; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers; Ted (Norma Kerrie) Ferguson, Don (Judy) Ferguson and Fred (Eileen) Ferguson.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Hazel (George) Tanahill, Mary (Foster) Joliff, Crystal (Lloyd) Dodds, Blanch (Roland) Herrington; and five brothers, Gail (Grace) Ferguson, Harry (Merl) Ferguson, Willis Ferguson, Andrew Ferguson and Dwight (Sandy) Ferguson.
Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 2 1/2 years during the Korean Conflict. He worked 12 years at Hopewell Dairy, spent 13 years at Airstream and spent another 10 years at AcuSport, before his retirement.
Bob loved old cars and owned a few of his own. He loved his large family. Everyone called him Uncle Bob. He has been a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church since he was 16 years old. He loved his church family and all his friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Pastor Jerry Lewis officiates a funeral service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Hopewell United Methodist Church, 3746 U.S. Route 68, Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery with military rites provided by the Logan County Veteran Honor Guard.
