Former Riverside football standout Brock Swonguer was recently named the Ashland University Gridiron Club’s coach of the year.
Swonguer is a 1998 Riverside graduate and a 2003 Ashland graduate.
He is now the defensive coordinator at Whitehall-Yearling High School. He has previously served as an assistant coach at Millersport and Big Walnut.
At Ashland, Swonguer was a stellar linebacker, leading the team in tackles during the 2000 and 2001 seasons. He was a first-team all-conference selection in both of those seasons.
