Riverside’s baseball team pulled off a dramatic comeback by scoring five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat visiting Jackson Center 11-10 Tuesday in non-league action.
The Pirates even their record to 8-8.
Riverside led 4-2 after three innings, but Jackson Center came surging back to score five runs in the top of the fifth inning. The Pirates drove in one run in the bottom of the frame, but now trailed 7-5.
The Tigers plated three more runs in the top of the sixth inning for a 10-5 advantage.
The Pirates were able to drive in one more run in the bottom of the sixth to trail 10-6.
Riverside continued to surge in the bottom of the seventh inning and rallied with five runs to escape with an 11-10 victory.
Offensively for Riverside, Kale Long went 3-5 with a double and three RBI, Deven Frilling went 2-4 with an RBI, Warren Shockey went 2-5 with two RBI and a double, Zander Crouch went 2-4, Simon Godwin and Braeden Steely all had doubles, while Landon Stewart, Andrew Knight and Sam King each had an RBI.
Crouch earned the win on the mound.
Riverside travels to Botkins on Thursday for a non-league game.

Raiders zap Wildcats
Benjamin Logan’s baseball team dominated host North Union for a 15-1 win in five innings Tuesday during a Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division meeting.
The Raiders run their record to 19-1 overall and 11-1 in the CBC, while the Wildcats fall to 4-11, 3-8.
Ben Logan raced ahead 6-1 after four innings and used a nine-run scoring burst in the fifth inning to put the game away.
Blake Peterson and Kade Arn combined for a two-hitter on the mound. Peterson went four innings with four strikeouts to record the win.
Carter Reese hit a home run with three RBI to spark the Raider offense, Trey Allen went 3-4 with a double and four RBI, Austin McGowan went 3-3 with a triple and two RBI, Brady Burrey went 2-3 with two RBI, Nolan Roose and Peterson both added an RBI.
Ben Logan travels to London on Friday for a CBC crossover game.

Lakers bounce back with win
After falling 7-5 on Monday, Indian Lake’s baseball team bounced back to beat Urbana 9-5 on Tuesday in Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division play.
The Lakers are now 12-7 on the season and 7-5 in the league as the Hillclimbers fall to 6-12, 4-7.
Indian Lake used a big third inning to score five runs for an early lead. However, Urbana was able to drive in a run in the fourth inning and four more runs in the fifth inning to knot the score at 5-5.
The Lakers responded in the sixth inning by scoring four runs to take a 9-5 advantage. They held off the Hillclimbers the rest of the way.
Caleb Wurster paced the Indian Lake offense with a triple and two RBI, Trenton Fulkerson hit a triple with an RBI, Gavin Lones had a double with three RBI, Logan Evans went -4 with an RBI and Lane Mefford added an RBI.
Cayden Whitman picked up the win on the mound with two strikeouts, while Lones had six strikeouts and Wurster recorded three.
Indian Lake hosts Kenton Ridge on Friday in CBC crossover action.

Panthers fend off Tigers
West Liberty-Salem’s baseball team fought, but couldn’t get over the hump in a 7-5 loss to host Fairbanks on Tuesday during Ohio Heritage Conference play.
The Tigers are now 7-9 on the season and 7-4 in the OHC, while the Panthers move to 8-8, 4-7.
Fairbanks held on to a 3-2 lead after three innings. Each team scored three runs in the fifth inning to leave the Panthers on top 6-5. They added another run in the sixth inning and made it hold up against the Tigers in the seventh frame.
Nick Burden led WL-Salem at the plate going 3-3 with an RBI and Isaac Reames had a double.
Will Motzko took the loss on the mound with five strikeouts.
WL-Salem hosts Triad on Friday in local OHC action.

Jets slip past Cardinals
Northeastern’s baseball team grabbed a 4-1 win over host Triad on Tuesday in Ohio Heritage Conference action.
The Cardinals are now 10-7 overall and 6-5 in the OHC. The Jets improve to 13-4, 9-2.
The score was tied at 1-1 after the first inning. Northeastern was able to pull ahead with three runs in the fifth inning for a 4-1 lead. Triad was never able to get back across home plate the rest of the game.
Ayden Spriggs led the Cardinal offense by going 2-3 and Wyatt Cole added an RBI.
Triad travels to West Liberty-Salem on Friday.
