Rebecca L. Herring, 84, of Belle Center, passed away Thursday morning, March 17, 2016, at Logan Acres Senior Community.
She was born in Logan County on Oct. 24, 1931, to the late Morgan A. and Bertha Belle Fry Connor.
Rebecca married Howard “Bud” Herring on May 12, 1951, in Belle Center, and he preceded her in death May 25, 2014. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Wiley Connor and Joseph Connor.
Rebecca is survived by children, Debbie (Rex) Reames, David “Rusty” Herring and Patricia Herring, all of Belle Center; two grandchildren, Katie (Anthony) Elsasser and Luke (Betsy) Reames; three great-grandchildren, Gabriel Lex Elsasser, Liam Jude Elsasser and Brice William Reames; nephews, Derek Herring of Columbus, Bruce Nemire of Columbus Grove and Drew Connor and Neal Connor, both of Florida; and nieces, Monica Daniels and Mandy Pratt, both of Columbus.
A 1949 graduate of Belle Center High School, Rebecca worked in the office at the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service for more than 40 years. She was an active member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church and the King’s Daughters.
Rebecca loved to cook and sew, and if something caught her eye, she wasn’t afraid to try something new.
Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center, where Pastor Kevin Smith officiates a funeral at 10 a.m. Monday, March 21. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
