Nita J. Moore, 90, of Bellefontaine, passed away Thursday morning, March 17, 2016, at Logan Acres Senior Community. She was born in Logan County on April 9, 1925, to the late Harland Spencer and Susan Marie Watkins Laird.
She married William E. Moore on Dec. 15, 1943, in Belle Center, and he preceded her in death May 17, 2008. She also was preceded in death by their son, William Moore Jr., in April 2015; and a sister, Vida Laird.
Nita is survived by a daughter, Cindy (Chuck) Blair of Bellefontaine; son, Doug (Susan) Moore of Powell; seven grandchildren, Scott (Nancy) Moore, Susie (Dan) Queen, Melissa Moore, Emily (Aaron) Pool, Jeffrey (Lori) Blair, Stephen Moore and Scott Moore; nine great-grandchildren; sisters- and brother-in-law, Phyllis Moore of Belle Center and Joe and Emma Krock of Kenton; and several nieces and nephews.
Nita was a longtime member of the Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church, where she was very active with the Women’s Group and several other committees and positions. She was a 4-H leader for many years and enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
Pastor H. Kearns officiates a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial follows in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
